It looks beautiful under the tree and it was an impressive gift, which all the recipients were very excited to unwrap. The contents were very secure, each wrapped in plastic and all placed inside the box with good quality natural straw to protect them and keep them in place.

The contents include two amazing festive soaps, 100 gr each. "Christmas Wonderland handmade soap" is a lovely red soap with fine silver glitter and white snowflakes, which smells of cinnamon and mirth. "Snowtime Like the Present handmade soap" is a golden orange soap with pink and gold swirls and fine gold glitter, which smells of frankincense, cedarwood and Gold of Pleasure. Both soaps are very luxurious, foamy and moisturising.

The box also contains three excellent bath blasters, 160 gr each. "Ho Ho Holly bath blaster" is a white and light green bath blaster, with a holly engraved on it, it has a very spicy and festive fragrance of black pepper and cinnamon. "Santa Baby bath blaster" is a white and pink smiley Father Christmas baby face, which smells of frankincense and myrrh. "Bomb Cosmetics - Chilly Willy Bath Blaster", which is my favorite, is an adorable snow man face with a funny carrot nose and it has a fantastic fragrance of orange and cinnamon. All bath blasters are excellent, luxurious, moisturising and they leave the skin wonderfully scented.

Also, there is a lovely small,30 gr, bath creamer. "We Three Kings bath creamer" looks like a tiny Christmas pudding with a holly decoration. It is very precious, with its ylang ylang and geranium essential oils, and its Christmassy scent, reminiscent of gold, frankincense and myrrh. This is very rich and can turn a simple bath into a festive luxury.

I bought several of these for myself and for friends. Indeed this gift set is an excellent idea for Christmas presents but also great to give anytime, as it is so much fun. However the most appreciated gifts were the two I kept for myself; who said that there is no Father Christmas after all? I love the products, they look fantastic in the bathroom, and the best thing is that my bathroom smells so good all the time, even when I am not using them.

This is an excellent idea even for post Christmas gifts that will certainly be enjoyed. I know that the spirit of Christmas is to give gifts and I do love giving, but there is no reason why you should not indulge yourself with this affordable luxury. Highly recommended!

Richard Mabey is the author of several books on flora and fauna so he is well qualified to write a book such as this. Over one hundred edible plants are featured together with recipes and other culinary information. There is also information on how to pick and when to pick and the regulations on picking which are very important. As I come from farming stock I have to say that food for free does not mean going into a field and digging up a few potato plants or for that matter cabbages.

There are plenty of hedgerow plants available for free, if you are prepared to look for them and suffer the odd few scratches. There is nothing better than a bowl of freshly picked blackberries or raspberries, if you can get them home before they are all eaten.

Plants that are edible are fully illustrated and described and the recipes are both old and new. Other fascinating information is how the plants have been used through the ages. An ideal book for all those who are nature lovers and like the idea of something for nothing. I think the last part covers 99.9% of the population.

After reading this book I went out for a walk and picked some blackberries, elderberries & sloes, which were growing in abundance some 10 minutes from my house! This book opened my eyes to stuff that I usually overlook in the hedgerows and provided me with some useful information about the type of plants, fruits and fungi that are edible (and perhaps not always well known), with recipe ideas too. It encouraged me to venture out into the fresh air and walk in local woodland, along river banks and fields etc. I even found some of the highly recommended Parasol mushrooms! ISBN 0-00-718303-8. Food For Free - A Fantastic Feast of Plants and Folklore.

The book starts with an introduction by the author Richard Mabey. It then has short sections titled 'Roots', 'Green Vegetables', 'Herbs', 'Spices', 'Flowers', 'Fruits', 'Making Jellies and Jams' and 'Nuts'. They include general advice, observations and uses. The main section of the book is given over to identification, with at least two pages per entry. An interesting section follows titled ’Picking Rules’ which gives advice on how to pick correctly how to stay safe. The last section before the main body of the book is a summary calendar which groups the picking times for entries into a colour-coded calendar - very useful as a quick reference.

Every entry is accompanied with a drawing. Most of the drawings are excellent, but one or two are a little small and thus less detailed. Fortunately, almost every entry also has a photograph. The combination of colour drawings and colour photographs is what makes this little pocket book a true 'gem'. If the drawing is a little weak, the photo will be excellent and vice-versa. Almost fool proof.

Each entry starts with the common English name (Latin is in small type at the top of the page)a colour illustration and description. Taking Beech (at random), it says: 'Widespread and common throughout the British Isles, especially on chalky soils. A stately deciduous tree, with smooth, grey bark, to 40m (130ft). Leaves: bright green, alternate, oval. Flowers: male drooping, stalked heads; female in pairs. Fruit: four inside a prickly brown husk, Sept-Oct. When ripe this opens into four lobes, this liberating the brown, three-sided nuts.' The illustration depicts a leaf, spring twig with unopened buds, an opening husk revealing nut inside and bare nut. The article continues with headings; Harvest/Pick, Uses, Beech Nut, Beech Nut Oil, Beech Leaf Noyau. The photo at the end of the entry is a good close-up of a twig with a cluster of husks. (I didn’t know, for example, that ‘fresh from the tree Beech leaves are a fine salad vegetable, as sweet as a mild cabbage though much softer in texture’.)

The book, in line with its title, covers Plants and Trees, Fungi, Seaweeds and Shellfish. There is a glossary at the end and a page devoted to further reading. There is a List of Recipes and finally an index of entries in common English or Latin.

There aren't that many books devoted to 'British' wild foods so to find one which lists over 100 edible plants, berries, mushrooms, seaweed and shellfish is most welcome. Given the true pocket size measurements of the Collins Gem series of books, the price of a fiver (£4-99) and the quality of each entry, this is as good as it gets. Obviously not a benchmark reference work or field-guide, but at least this fits in the pocket - which is the main purpose of such books, isn't it? Five stars!

Very well presented and look like you could eat them.
Smell chocolaty before use.

Cons:

Very small (4cm across, 2.5cm deep), very inaffective. They hardly fizz. They just mainly sink to the the bottom of the bath and make the water go slightly cloudy/murky.
The smell which you get on opening the package does not translate into the bath when you disolve them. The smell is only very faint.

Overall:

For ?1.45 for each bomb is a complete waste of money. We put a single one in a bath then topped up with 2 more as these are such poor quality. This didn't make much difference.
I would not recommend these. Instead, by a nice pack of cakes and pour a whole bottle of bubble bath in your bath. Believe me, it would be far more satisfying and cheaper.

They have arrived today and I am thrilled with them. They are in a lovely litte box that looks like a little chocolate box. Each item is beutifully made and they look absolutely stunning. When you open the box your hit by an absolutely luxurious smell.

Obviously I havent actually used them because I bought them as a gift, but They look and smell good enough to eat!!

Very well presented and look like you could eat them.
Smell chocolaty before use.

Cons:

Very small (4cm across, 2.5cm deep), very inaffective. They hardly fizz. They just mainly sink to the the bottom of the bath and make the water go slightly cloudy/murky.
The smell which you get on opening the package does not translate into the bath when you disolve them. The smell is only very faint.

Overall:

For ?1.45 for each bomb is a complete waste of money. We put a single one in a bath then topped up with 2 more as these are such poor quality. This didn't make much difference.
I would not recommend these. Instead, by a nice pack of cakes and pour a whole bottle of bubble bath in your bath. Believe me, it would be far more satisfying and cheaper.

They have arrived today and I am thrilled with them. They are in a lovely litte box that looks like a little chocolate box. Each item is beutifully made and they look absolutely stunning. When you open the box your hit by an absolutely luxurious smell.

Obviously I havent actually used them because I bought them as a gift, but They look and smell good enough to eat!!

I admitted defeat and went and had it all cut off to shoulder length but despite using industrial strength conditioner, not using a hairdryer and being very kind to my hair, it didn't improve much. I went for a trim and my hairdresser used Moroccanoil on my hair before he dried it - extolling its many virtues! I did wonder what on earth he was doing, covering my hair in oil but once dried, it looked and felt better than it had done in years. Moroccanoil leaves your hair feeling lovely and soft and silky and even tamed my corkscrew curls. I immediately bought a bottle and am about to buy another one as I'm now addicted! My hair looks and feels glossy and stays tangle free a lot longer, and a bonus is that your hair dries a lot quicker with the oil on it as it disperses the water - I have very thick hair and it now dries in about half the time it used to. And trust me, you'd never know it's oil - there's no trace of oiliness when your hair is dry. I'll definitely carry on using this. It might seem expensive but it lasts a long time - you only need a 10p sized pool of it. If you're despairing of your unmanageable hair, try this! My hairdresser used Moroccanoil on my hair, I was sold - everyone commented on how shiny my hair looked, I had to make the purchase.
Surprisingly you only need a very small amount, I have afro/caribbean hair, there is no greasy formula it just leaves your hair silky not weighted down by heavy residue. I also use Moroccanoil when dressing my hair (after blowing drying and styling)fantastic product.
